80° + 90° + ∠AOB + 90° = 360°.

Hence ∠AOB = 100°.

Official CBSE answer · Solution by Team TutorVertex

Tangents from each vertex are equal.

Therefore PQ + RS = QR + SP.

12 + 14 = 15 + SP.

Hence SP = 11 cm.

Correct answer: D — 11 cm

Common questions

How many tangents can be drawn from a point outside a circle?

Two, and they are equal in length.

How many tangents can be drawn from a point inside a circle?

None. Every line through an interior point intersects the circle at two points.

What is the length of a tangent from a point 13 cm from the centre of a circle of radius 5 cm?

12 cm. By Pythagoras, t² = 13² − 5² = 144, so t = 12 cm.

Why are the tangents at the ends of a diameter parallel?

Both are perpendicular to the same diameter. Lines perpendicular to the same line are parallel.

If a parallelogram circumscribes a circle, what is it?

A rhombus. For parallelogram ABCD, AB = CD and BC = AD. The tangential-quadrilateral result AB + CD = BC + AD gives 2AB = 2BC. Hence all four sides are equal.

How this question bank is prepared

This selected collection contains 42 distinct question stems across 47 source appearances: 34 board-paper appearances from 2023–2026 and 13 official sample-paper appearances from sessions 2022–23 to 2026–27. Five repeated stems are merged, with both appearances listed. Where choice order differs, the displayed version is identified. Level and source filters include a question whenever any listed appearance matches the selected filter.

Answers were checked against corresponding official marking schemes and checked mathematically. Content is reviewed by Team TutorVertex. NCERT is used to check scope, terminology, notation and solution methods.

Where CBSE supplies working, the official method is retained and labelled. When CBSE supplies only an answer, the working is by Team TutorVertex. Added theorem explanations, topic key results and teaching illustrations are by Team TutorVertex. Solutions show one reasoning or calculation step per paragraph.

Eight questions include redrawn original diagrams. Three solutions contain additional TutorVertex teaching illustrations. All figures are marked as not to scale.

The checked 2022 written papers are not converted into invented MCQs. Only original ordinary MCQs are included on this page. The archive collections were screened using text extraction and OCR where needed; this is a selected bank, not a complete transcription of every set or language version. Unclear or ambiguous questions are excluded.
