Frequently asked questions
Why does the order of vertices matter?
In △ABC ∼ △PQR, the matching vertices are A ↔ P, B ↔ Q and C ↔ R. Match AB with PQ, BC with QR and AC with PR before writing a ratio.
Can I measure the drawing to answer a question?
Use only stated measurements, marked angles and given parallel or perpendicular relations. These diagrams are not to scale.
What is the difference between BPT and its converse?
BPT uses a given parallel line to establish equal ratios. Its converse uses equal ratios to establish that a line is parallel.
Does NCERT include RHS similarity?
The current chapter includes a note explaining RHS similarity for right triangles. Older MCQs that treat RHS as invalid are excluded from this collection.
Why are there no 2022 board MCQs here?
The 2022 main and compartment papers available in the checked official archive use written-answer questions. They are not converted into original MCQs. Sample-paper sessions remain labelled separately.
Who wrote the solutions?
CBSE working is retained where supplied, with normalised typesetting. Where only an official answer is supplied, Team TutorVertex provides the explanation. Added theorem and symbol guidance is by Team TutorVertex and labelled separately from official CBSE working.
This selected collection contains 19 board-examination MCQs and 11 official sample-paper MCQs. Each included answer has been matched to its official marking scheme and independently checked. Mathematical data and choice order are retained; wording is clarified where necessary. Fourteen diagrams are redrawn with their required labels and relations; measurements stated in the question are preserved.
This is not an exhaustive transcription of every Triangles question in all sets or translated editions. Older conflicting RHS questions and candidates without a matching marking scheme are excluded. Assertion–Reason questions and written-answer case studies remain separate. The current NCERT chapter and syllabus guide the selection; older deleted area-ratio and Pythagoras sections are not added as current Chapter 6 topics.
